Open Bite is when there remains an opening in the bite. The upper and lower teeth do not fully come together when the mouth is closed.

Treatments for open bite can come in many forms. Thumb sucking or chewing on objects (such as pencils for example) can prevent your front teeth from closing properly over time.

Open bites can be corrected with braces or Invisalign. Treatment usually involves moving the front teeth down into place and the back teeth up, or a similar combination.
